Production Practices

We employ organic practices but are not certified organic. We follow the standards set out in Vermont Ecologically Grown, a program developed by UVM Extension and Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers.

Our machinery and equipment are meticulously cleaned and maintained.  This not only extends the life of the equipment but also will reveal a problem when it is small – before it becomes a major mechanical problem or the source of soil contamination.

Produce safety

We make every effort to ensure that our produce is grown, harvested, washed, and packed to reduce risk of contamination. We have established systems to enable traceability and accountability for everything grown on the farm. Our employees are trained in health and hygiene standards. We are compliant with all the food-safety requirements of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and also have our CAPS (Community Accreditation for Produce Safety) certification.
